About

Construction of The Pines Country Club began on October 16, 1968.  The land was purchased from the Gilbert Estate and the Northern West Virginia Beagle Club.  Edmund B. Ault, a golf course architect from Silver Springs, Md. was engaged to design the 18-hole layout.

The Pines Country Club was officially opened on May 30, 1970 with the construction of the swimming pool being completed in the summer of 1971.  Today, The Pines continues to be one of the most favored golf courses in West Virginia and is the only member-owned country club in the area.  The members look forward to the continued improvements of the golf course and facilities in an effort to keep it one of the finest country clubs in West Virginia.
