Smith Funeral Home welcomes Julia Konat our new Apprentice Funeral Director. Julia grew up in Morgantown. She is a 2017 graduate of Morgantown High School, attended West Virginia University and graduated from WVU-Potomac State College in 2022. Julia is the daughter of Dr. Gregory Konat and Lori Savitch. In 2021, Julia began working at the funeral home as a part time care team member. She instantly felt a connection to the work and a calling to this career path. She started to take on more hours and responsibilities in the office, and was delighted when she was offered an apprenticeship with us. Julia hopes that in this position she can provide every person with the care and support they deserve. Her calm and caring demeanor has made her the person that her family and friends go to in times of need, and she hopes to share the gift with others. In her free time, she likes to visit new places and specifically find new restaurants with friends.
