THE EXPERIENCE GRRRETT CO. ,C AD The Garrett County Chamber of Commerce is seeking an experienced Heritage Area and Groups Director. The Heritage Area Director provides management of the Garrett County Mountain Maryland Gateway to the West Heritage Area and assures administration of the Heritage Area Management Plan in accordance with the mission of the program and as certified by the Maryland Heritage Areas Authorit Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: grant applications and administration, reporting, promoting Heritage tourism, partnering with agencies, providing assi tance to local partners, social media, website and app management. The Director is also responsible for groups including marketing activities that promote Garrett County and its facilities as a destination for conventions, conferences, meetings, retreats, reunions, group tours, and weddings thereby attracting visitors to Garrett County. Heritage tourism is a fast-growing segment of the industry and Garrett County's rich history lends itself nicely to both the Heritage program and as a desti- nation for groups Candidates should have experience in marketing/promotion/advertising, grant man- agement, community relations and fiscal management. Knowledge of historic preser vation is helpful. High level of computer competency is required and experience with social media, websites and mobile applications is a plus. Familiarity with Garrett County is desirable, and experience with Garrett County culture and heritage is a plus. This is a full-time position with benefits (insurance, retirement, paid time off). Salary range is $45,000-$48,500.
